Big adventure!

It's me Sparkles! I am so dog-gone thrilled to share some really exciting news!

As many of you may know, Frankie's mom and my mom (Firefighter Dayna) met on Facebook. Next thing I know, I have a brand new friend!

In February, Frankie and I got to meet for the very first time when I helped my mom do a presentation for the boys and girls at Clarksville Primary. What was extra fun about that day was that I got to meet Frankie on Skype!

Frankie and I made history that day and it was a day that I will cherish in my heart forever! I could tell how excited my mom Firefighter Dayna was, and Frankie's mom was excited too! That day is all that they ever talk about!

So if you think that was fun, you haven't heard anything yet!! Wait until you hear the big news! Ihave a surprise and I couldn't wait to share it with you

I live in Arkansas and Frankie lives in Wisconsin. Tango, mom and me will be em "barking" on a big adventure and will be traveling to Wisconsin next week, and we will meet in person (ok, that should really be dog, don't you think?) Not only will we meet for the first time, but we have some special things planned.

Wednesday, April 7th: Mom, Tango and I roll into Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for the official sniff and greet!
Thursday, April 8th: Sparkles' and Frankie, along with Mom's Dayna and Barbara head over to Elkhart Lake Fire Station for day of photo shoots and video coverage.
This documentation will be put together into a future e-book!
Friday, April 9th: Sparkles' and Frankie roll on over to Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah Elementary School to do a first time ever, special presentation for K-5 boys and girls. Sparkles' and Frankie will then do a Skype presentation from Frankie's home in Elkhart Lake and chat live with students in elementary school in Western Canada. Karen Keys, teacher/librarian is thrilled for this opportunity for her students!

So do keep checking back as we share the unfolding of our big adventure, Two Dogs Rollin'!

Thank you Dog Fancy Magazine!

Life as a fire safety dog is so wonderful! There are so many nice people out there wanting to help me share the fire safety message and I almost barkless when that happens!

Yesterday the May issue of Dog Fancy Magazine arrived. As many of you know, I was rescued from a home with 62 other dogs. The wonderful folks at Dog Fancy decided to tell my story and share how I overcame the odds and am now helping keep children and their caregivers fire safe. We are so excited! Thanks to everyone at Dog Fancy Magazine for helping Sparkles share the fire safety message!

Hi Paw to Eileen Edwards for Drawing the Pictures for my upcoming fire safety activity book!

What makes being a fire safety dog so special, is that I have met some pretty incredible people. One of those incredible people is my friend Eileen. Eileen is very pro-active with rescues like me, and drew all of the drawings for my upcoming fire safety activity e-book. How cool is that! The proceeds from the sale of the activity book will help benefit the Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation. You're so pawsome!

What a cool day!

Is this cool or what? Firefighter Dayna and I were so excited when our good friends, Frankie the Walk 'n Roll Dog and her human, Barbara Techel, Firefighter Dayna and myself, got to share fire safety with the boys and girls of Clarksville Primary School.

I love going to Clarksville Primary where I get to see all of my friends! I got to see my good friend, Principal Ziegler, and all of the children and teachers at Clarksville Primary School! Boy, did I ever get lots of hugs! And, what was so cool, is that the boys and girls loved listening to Frankie's story!

Exciting news!

One of Firefighter Dayna's favorite bloggers in the whole wide world, Author and Mommy Blogger, Dawn Meehan, has posted a book review of my book, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog on her Because I Said So blog. Party!!!!

And if that wasn't enough to make your tail wag fast, she is giving away some really exciting goodies from me to two of her readers, including a special edition copy of my book and audio book, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog. These limited edition copies will be signed by Firefighter Dayna Hilton and Firefighter Michael, who are both in the book with me. But this is the most exciting part! The books will be “pawed” by me! Bonus!

These two winners will also receive several life saving products from Firefighter Dayna and me and First Alert, including a combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, Tundra™ Fire Extinguishing Spray and escape ladder, worth over $100! All to help keep you and your family safe! Here is my fellow fire safety dog friend, Tango, modeling with all of the loot!

And, cause I am feeling so generous and because Mom likes Dawn's blog and her readers so much, I am also going to throw in a battery operated talking combination smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector from First Alert, worth over $60! You heard it here first! Woof! The voice alarm is really easy to program even notifies you which hazard is being sensed.

How cool is that? Over $160 in fire safety goods for each of two of Dawn's lucky readers! So, tell all your friends and help spread the word!

Firefighter Dayna made me this new banner. I love it!

My first book review! Woof!

I was soooo excited when a fellow dog mom, Donna Shepherd asked my mom, Firefighter Dayna, and me to review her new children's book, Poodle and Doodle. This was our first review, so Firefighter Dayna and I were really excited!

Here's the low-down on this really cool book! Angel is a twelve-pound prissy poodle (you know how poodles can be real diva's sometimes!) and she isn't very happy when her two-legged friend, Leah, brings home Scruffy, a seventy-five pound clumsy Labradoodle. Why ever would Leah want another pet when she had the perfect dog already? That's what I want to know! This book is so pawsome, it even has hidden bones in some of the pictures! How cool is that? This book had Firefighter Dayna laughing so hard and my tail was wagging a mile a minute when she read it to me. I loved it and you will too!
Here's a sneak peek at this cool book. No bones about it, this book is "pawsitively" wonderful and one of the best children's books that we have read in a long time, paws down!

Be sure to check out our review at Donna's Oodles of Fun blog.

And, it's your lucky day! You know, I am such a big fan of coloring pages and I wanted to share this fun one (have a grownup help you click on picture of the coloring page, then print! It will print out full size ready to be colored OR right click on picture, and then 'save picture as...' and you can print it out using your photo program). I have already finished coloring mine! It was so much fun!
Thanks, Donna. We love your new book and wish you and your four-legged furry friends much success!
