Siren is in training to become a fire safety dog, just like Sparkles and Tango. It won't be long before he is wearing his own red vest!

Painting Arrives from Artist Carol Chretien

The beautiful oil painting, "Siren's Call to Service," by artist Carol Chretien, arrived in Arkansas. We loved the photos of the painting that we had seen, but when we saw the painting in person, it is breath-taking!

Siren loves his new portrait! Not only did we like the front, we liked the back as well! Very thoughtful!



Carol wrote a beautiful post on her blog, describing what inspired her to make this painting.

Thanks to the thoughtfulness of Carol, the fire safety dogs and I will have yet another way to help carry on the work of Sparkles through the Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation. The painting will help us raise funds for the foundation, and will, in turn, help the foundation provide low or no cost fire safety materials to children, fire departments, schools and other organizations.

Carol donated the painting to the fire safety dogs and myself. Prints of the painting as well as other items will be available with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the foundation.

Way to go Tango!

My friend Tango is in Texas in training. Here's my good friend Kari helping him learn how to be a fire safety dog. I can't wait until he can help me teach fire safety! We are going to have so much fun!

Wow! Being a fire safety dog is so much fun, especially when you receive good news!

Firefighter Dayna and I are super excited that our book, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog, has been selected as “Book of the Week” by Joy Delgado’s Books Go Beyond Reading Blog.

What's cook about Joy's blog is that her blog explores books, like mine, that go beyond reading. If you have read my book, then you know that we have lots of fun learning about fire safety!

Joy also gave the book a great review! High paw, Joy, for helping us spread the fire safety message!

For those of you that may not know, my book has been credited for saving the lives of two children and their families . The more we can spread the word, the more children and caregivers we can help keep safe!
