Sparkles' Clubhouse Receives Finishing Touches!

After five days of working on staining Sparkles' Clubhouse's porch, it is finally finished!

Tango the Fire Safety Dog to be on FOX 23 (Tulsa)

Tango the Fire Safety Dog will be appearing on FOX 23 in Tulsa, June 13th, on their FOX 23 News Daybreak show with anchor Michelle Linn.

The segment is scheduled to be on at 7:45 A.M. CST. Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation's Executive Director, Dayna Hilton will be sharing the work of the foundation and two of the foundation's programs: Sparkles' Safety Spot and Sparkles' Fire Safety Skype Tour. In addition, Tango will be demonstrating how to crawl low under smoke.

Firefighter Frank Hits the Streets of Reston, Virginia

Firefighter Frank hit the streets of Reston, Virginia while taking a short break from the booth at the Vision 20/20 Models in Fire Prevention Sypmposium to help share fire safety with the children that were in attendance at a big event for dogs and their pet parents. Firefighter Frank had so much fun sharing how important it was to have an escape plan and a working smoke alarm.

Firefighter Frank also helped share information with the boys and girls about the Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation's Sparkles' Safety Spot and Sparkles' Fire Safety Skype Tour. It was a really fun couple of hours!

Wowsa! Firefighter Frank got his picture made with a snake! He loved it!

Firefighter Frank saw alot of dogs at the event, but his favorite one was this dog. Doesn't he look like he is wearing spotted socks? Too funny!

Firefighter Frank Travels to the Washington, DC area with Firefighter Dayna and the Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation

Firefighter Frank went on his first big trip to the Washington, DC area to attend the Vision 20/20 Models in Fire Prevention Symposium with the Keep Kids Fire Safe® Foundation.

The Symposium features some of the most innovative fire prevention programs being used across the country and over 150 fire prevention experts are gathering to learn from each other and share their programs. The last time the symposium, Firefighter Dayna did a special program on Sparkles' Reading Program!

Keep Kids Fire Safe® Foundation will have an exhibit at Vision 20/20 to help share the work of the foundation and two of its most popular fire safety programs: Sparkles' Safety Spot and Sparkles' Fire Safety Skype Tour.

Firefighter Frank was so excited to have his picture made with a flight attendant!

Firefighter Frank traveled in style in Firefighter Dayna's backpack!

As soon as Firefighter Frank got on the plane and settled in, he checked out the safety procedures. He wanted to be prepared in case of an emergency!

He then helped his seatmate, Jacob. Jacob really didn't need much help, though as he had also gone over what to do with his Grandma beforehand! Way to go, Jacob! 

Firefighter Frank had never had pretzels on an airplane before. He loved them!

Before Firefighter got off the plane, he got a very special hug from Jacob!

Cesar's Way Magazine Features the Inspirational Story of Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog

Seven years ago, I was surfing the internet looking to add a Dalmatian to our family and found “Daisy” on the Dalmatian Assistance League of Tulsa website. Never in a million years did I ever dream that that would be the beginning of our journey in the fire service together. We have been blessed with having so many amazing to share the fire safety message far and wide to millions of children and their caregivers.

Thanks to Cesar Millan and everyone at Cesar’s Way Magazine, Sparkles’ story will be shared in a three page spread in the July issue of the magazine. We couldn’t be more honored and excited! And, the icing on the cake is that the magazine will also include fire safety tips. This means more to Sparkles and me more than anything. Helping save the lives of children and their caregivers, reducing injuries and decreasing property loss from fire, that is our mission. Every fiber of our being is dedicated to helping keep everyone safe!
